UMPIRE NEWS

CONGRATULATIONS DANNI CATON ON ACHIEVING "C" NATIONAL UMPIRING STATUS ON DAY 13.  WELL DONE, YOU HAVE WORKED HARD. CONGRATULATIONS JULIE NORMAN ON ACHIEVING HER "B" NATIONAL BADGE THROUGH NETBALL NSW, A GREAT AND WORTHY ACHIEVEMENT.  WELL DONE TO ALL OUR HARDWORKING UMPIRES.

Magpies works hard to provide suitable umpires to every game, we do not ask teams to umpire in rotation, nor do we ask non umpires to cover games.  First preference is always given to teams providing an umpire to the pool but every effort is made, with the exception of unforseen circumstances, to roster an umpire to every game throughout the season.

We have a strong base of national badged umpires, as well as dedicated umpires who are putting a lot of time and effort into achieving national status.  We have some fabulous programs in place to help umpires of all levels to progress with their adjudication of games and we provide an umpire coach or senior representative to every beginner umpire, to help them learn and to give them important support when they are starting out.  We believe that these programs are yielding fantastic results and we know that our players and teams appreciate the hard work that all our umpires are putting in.   Our nationals and seniors rotate on all games where feasible.

We work hard with our umpires to ensure that they enjoy the experience, that they have an opportunity to be the very best that they can be and we ask everyone to remember, "you can take the court two players down, but you cannot take the court without an umpire" - be nice, and appreciate everything that they are giving to make it possible for you to play netball every week.
